Identity Theft

What is identity theft?

Identity theft is 'stealing' another person's identity, pretending to be someone else for the purpose of financial gain or other illegal activity. Identity theft is often cited as the fastest growing crime in modern society. It is especially rife, it seems, on the internet, where a person can easily pretend to be someone else and use the other person's name and details to purchase goods or services via the net.

Identity theft is often difficult for a person to understand, after all, it seems as if nothing has been stolen or even missing. Yet the theft of your identity can cost you lots of money.

Thankfully there are a lot of people who understand identity theft, how it works and ways to prevent it. Hopefully the articles here will enable you to learn about identity theft and help prevent you becoming a victim.
